Continental Attack Force

I know it is not common for bloggers to highlight their purchases online.
But I guess I am just different. ;p

Truly last minute, I reached Chapter2Cycle at 5.30pm.
Told Ben I need tires urgently.
He asked me for my preference.

Top on my list is Continental Grand Prix 4000.
Unfortunately, it is out of stock.

Options are Ultra, Triathlon or Attack Force.

As much as I hate not being to get my hands on a pair of Continental GP4000, I have no choice but to settle for second best, Continental Attack Force.

The technology behind Attack Force is pretty interesting.
Attack Force has different dimensions for its front and rear tires.
Front tire (Attack) has good braking and excellent cornering stability, while
Rear tire (Force) provides great power transmission and better puncture protection.

Downside for the Continental Attack Force tires is that it does not utilise Vectran (used in GP4000 tires) for its breaker belt which would have provide me with better puncture protection, higher mileage, anti-aging compound, zero moisture absorption, excellent fatigue performance, improved dimensional stability and is five times stronger than steel!!! (Take a look at Gentle's tire (GP 4000) and you will know what I mean. He has clocked 4,000km on his set of tires, and it still looks brand new!!!)

Continental Attack Force binds the nylon fabric tighter to serve as its breaker belt.

Technology aside, I have Ben made a few minor adjustments and I hope to be ready for the big race tomorrow.

Took the bike for a spin after I reached home.
Geez, never thought that ride comfort will change so much on a different set of tires.
One, a springier ride.
Two, better cornering. Haha, you tends to get bolder after each turn, cos the tires really grip very well.
Three, lower rolling resistance.

Okay, more on my tire experiences after the race! =)
