Cold Storage Kids Run

Arrived at Padang to a pretty "quiet" atmosphere.
The carnival did not spread beyond Padang.
The rain has stopped, so the weather is pretty nice for a morning run.

Shannon is excited to see all the kids wearing the same "We are Runners" tee.
Amazingly, she remains pretty calm throughout the whole event.

The start point was barricaded and 2 security personnels were stopping anyone from entering the start point till 5 minutes before the race start.
It leads to a jam-packed crowd in front of the entry point.
With the entrance barely 2m wide, it is a horrendous experience for 1000 parents and kids trying to enter the start point.
The situation was made worse with a couple of parents and kids whom are starting a later race standing right in front of the entrance.
All is forgotten once I cross the entrance with Shannon, but I really hope that no one was hurt in the process.

The race starts on schedule with the flag-off by Eunice Olsen.
Hehe, she is wearing the green kids' size "We are Runners" tee, instead of the white organisers tee.

Shannon and I were running most of the distance with my sister running just outside the running route taking photos.
Thanks, sis!!!

It was all smiles during the race, something that you dun really see in adult races.

Met Tekko after crossing the Finish Point and he took a very nice photo of us.
Thanks, Tekko!!!

Shannon received a Finisher's Medal, Race certificate and towel for completing the race. :)

We went to Marina Square for brekkie after which I went to source for my new pair of shades.
After the Tifosi saga, I am currently still looking for a pair of prescription shades.
Was still aiming for Rudy Project, but decided to settle for Adidas Golf T-Sight S.

Unfortunately, the optical shop does not carry the colour that I want, thus the shades won't be making its maiden appearance at City Duathlon this weekend. :(

After brekkie, we proceed to Novena Velocity to collect the Saucony PAssion Run Race Pack.
Met Gugugaga. He is there refereeing the Beach Volleyball games.
Went to try out the Zoot Ultra TT at Running Lab.
The carbon sole from mid-foot to the heel makes it a forefoot runner's racer shoes.
Pretty uncomfy for a heel striker like me.

After a sumptuous lunch, we proceed home.

Another day well-spent. :)
