Time Trial

Did my own time trial this evening.

The crowd are much better tonight. Without last week's 3 monkeys fooling around, the swim was more enjoyable.

Start out with freestyle and I noticed that I left the drills at home.
4 laps later, I am still struggling to get my momentum going.
The body roll, full body stretch are all missing.
In fact, I find my legs are sinking. I tried to maintain my buoyancy by pressing the chest down, but it does not help at all.
The body just refuses to co-operate.
I decided to alternate between breaststroke and freestyle, hoping to find my momentum back.
Completed 15 laps in 19:55 mins.

After completing the 30 laps, I did a time check.
41:25 mins. Ouch, I failed my own time trial.
That is 3 extra seconds for every lap.
But I guess during the actual time trial, I should be able to pass, given the added pressure from the other time trialists. =p

Decide to go over to disturb Alex's class.
Sit down to observe the class. Noticed that Tarepanda and Jaczy are doing quite well.
Their strokes are really fluid.
In fact, the ladies seems to be progressing better than the guys. =)
After chatting with Lala for a while, I decide to go back to the competitive pool to complete more laps.

Ahh.... the momentum is coming back.
Somehow, the body remembers all its strokes after the well deserved rest. =p
Decided to swim till the life guard chases me out of the pool.
Completed another 30 laps before the life guard declares the swimming pool closed.

While bathing, I notice the guy beside me is using a Aviva Bintan Triathlon 2007 bag.
Check with him how was the race last year.
Realised that last year's bike leg was full of lightning and thunder , but the organisers allow the race to continue.
Keke, the difference between a local race and an overseas race.
Found out that Jun Meng is from Animiles and is attempting Ironman New Zealand come 1st March 2008.
Way to go, Jun Meng!
