Race day means waking up late? Nay, not today. Kids triggered the bio alarm at 4am. :S
Thighs are a bit sore after yesterday's ride. Hmm... recently, thighs always felt sore after every ride. Am I pushing myself too hard?
So today, it is time for 2XU to perform its magic. :D
Reached the race site around 7am, but din see much familiar faces.
Met DO who told me about the evils of doing running at above 180 bpm.
How ah? What other options do I have?
Race was flagged off by the Mr Teo Chee Hean, Mr Teo Ser Luck and Dr Lam Pin Min at 7:30am.
I started at the rear of the pack.
By the first km, I am perspiring profusely.
Cloudy day, but a very humid morning.
Met Peng Kah and ran with him for 2km.
Surprisingly, I could still make small talk although I am running at 6min/km pace.
But the sinful night snack soon caught up with me and I could feel the effects of the bad cholesterol. Ouch....
This is like a prelude to Singapore Biathlon, and it really sucks to know that I may never conquer my hatred for running any time soon.
Slowed down to a walk-run. Kcslchin caught up with me and he walked with me for quite a distance. Thanks, mate.
At the 4km mark, someone behind remarked "Jodan, how can you be walking for so long?"
Haha, it is Sleek0000. :D
Bo pian, now got official escort, must start running.
Did a slow run with Sleek0000 for a while, before I started walking again...
Sorry, Sleek0000.
After the 5km return leg, wave greetings to Molly and Kayano on the opposite side of the road.
Opps.... hope the sweepers dun catch up with me.... :p
At the 2nd park, I had some fun. :D
I did forefoot running.
Sprinting up and down the slopes was pure pleasure. :D
Seeing the 9km mark, I decided to run all the way to the finish. with the SGRunners cheering me on the last 100m. Thanks, guys. :)
Collected my race pack and met up with the SGRunners.
Thanks to TeeLee, I did not change out of my running tee, as he warned that the color of the goodie bag will run.
Waited for the lucky draw.
It took Dr Lam a long time just to draw the 10th to 20th placed lucky winners.
When the baton was passed to Mr Teo CH to draw the top 10 lucky draw winners, it turned out to be an anti-climax when the organiser announced that winners will be informed through phone.
Nice run, but I think I would take up Mike Kang's offer and be a Bike Crew next year. :)
