It is now 2 days after the race.
Positive thoughts first.
While I was mapping the distance on Google Map, I was asking myself... Did I do that distance on foot? Unbelievable!!! I would not have imagine.
I am glad that I am able to finish the race in one piece.
With the crowd and my MP3 blasting in my ears, it was able to distract me from the soreness of the hamstrings. :)
I am even happier that I did not suffer any cramps or DOMS after the race. :)
Not so positive thoughts.
Do I feel more confident in taking on another 21km soon?
I guess not. Seeing how my body react after 13km, it is enough to tell me that I lack some serious training.
It did not go into shutdown mode, but the legs just refuse to run a step further.
It could be all in the mind, but I do not dare take the risk.
Now I am glad that I signed up for the New Balance Real Run in October.
It is 15km, so I should be able to use the race to gauge myself for my next 21km (Singapore Marathon).
Haha, one last thing.
A few of my colleagues were thinking that I will be taking MC on Monday. So glad that I prove them wrong.
Plan up to December 2nd?
Do longer distance runs. Probably have to start going beyond my mental 10km.
8km-10km-12km-15km
