Wierd Sightings

It must have been a milliemium since I last exercise.
Unless you can consider sleeping as an exercise. =D

With the now very prominient 一大粒 getting very round and well-defined, it is time to burn some calories.

Rain check? Nice cool weather.
Out of the house at 5.40am, I make my way to Mandai Shell.

Geez, the weeks of inactivity really tells.
The legs cannot generate enough wattage to power my bike up the slopes...
Was overtaken by another cyclist whom I saw at the Yishun junction. =/

Just when I crossed the junction of Mandai Ave and Old Mandai Road, I get peppered with rain drops.

The rain gets heavier as I cycle along, but my Continential tires are giving me good traction on the wet surface. So all is well. =)

Closing in on a bus stop, there is about 8 riders stopping over and I decided to join them.
Greeting me was Wildcat, who has lead a small group of riders for the 5:30am ride.

While we were chatting, SC5 arrived at the bus stop. He is the Animiles water boy today.
Animiles will be seeing a whole lot more of him as he is now unable to ride.
He recounted his experiences during Aviva Ironman Singapore 70.3.
After having a crash at the first bike loop, he still manages to complete the bike leg riding with a split top tube. =O
He commented that he has to ride at a very slow speed while reviewing the damage once in a while.
As if he is expecting the next question, he responded "25.4".
Was asked by Wildcat to stand in the corner! Haha....

When the rain becomes a drizzle, we decided to move out.
Some of the riders wanted to do the full LH loop, while Wildcat and I prefer to make a U-turn at Mandai Lake Road.
Was pretty surprised that after the Mandai Lake Road, the roads were totally dry. But I do not want to take a risk so we continue our plan and did the U-turn.
It was back to the drizzling Mandai Road!
This is getting pretty interesting. The road junctions seems like the demarcation lines for rain!

Crossing the SLE exit T-junction, I exclaimed to Wildcat. "The roads are dry!"
But soon after, I have to retract my words as the next T-junction brought me into rainy roads again.

Yet again, the Sembawang-Yishun cross junction brought about light weather, whereby the roads are not wet enough to generate any water sprays from the car tires.

Hmm... I wonder how roads are designed?
How come each cross junction brought about a different type of weather?

Just as i step into the house, the drizzle becomes a downpour!
Heng ah....

Now I am having a tough time trying to scrape mud off literaaly everything.
The mud from the road construction along Mandai Road has succeeded in applying my equipment and clothing with a nice layer of mud.
While I still can wipe the mud off the bike; the gears, chain and jersey did not fare too well.
I can only make do with whatever mud I manage to remove. =(
