Pre-SCSM CBD Run

Brought my running gear to the office, hoping to get a last minute visa for today's CBD Run.
This shall be my last run for the week, ahead of SCSM.

At 5pm, my wife called to approve my visa. Yippee...
谢 谢 您 , 老 婆 大 人 !!!

After the pre-lunch thunderstorm, weather looks good although it is a bit humid.

Reach CBD around 6.45pm. Not many people yet.
Within 15 minutes, the whole place is filled with runners. :)
Brokie's car is filled packed full of bags, thus my car becomes the 2nd baggage service car. =)

Knowing that I will come back late, I pass the car key to Aerosolcan. Thanks, mate. =)

The run starts promptly at 7pm.

As usual, I tried to keep up with the front pack pace for the 1st km. Luckily I notice that ST was not running that fast, thus I slow down and ran beside her.

After the Marina South tunnel, the cheetahs started to sprint away.

The group started to spread out and by the time we reach Marina South Ferry Terminal, it was just Tekko and me.

Had a toliet break before we continued on our journey. Tekko was giving me lots of advice.

As I was going real slow, Tekko make sure that I know the route before he sped ahead to join the group.

Once again, I am very glad that I am running this route before the actual race.

It was intimidating last week. It was still intimidating this week, but to a lesser extent.

I was en route to Marina Grove when Aerosolcan, IMD and a few others came running back in the opposite direction.
These cheetahs are really fast. They will definitely do well during SCSM.

Into Marina Grove, I was all alone. Without ST and Joanna waiting round the corner, I was able to enjoy the scenery. =p
Haha, spotted a few cars with the engines running parked along the road where Marina Bowl used to be.
Hehe, they all seems to be waiting for me to run past their cars. :D

Running alone allows me to monitor my body more closely.

Heart Rate is steady without the strain.
Strides seems too short. But I do not dare to increase the cadence.
Hmm, this looks like a comfortable pace. Shall keep with it.

Along the way, I came up alongside this guy. Jio jio him to run with me and he promptly followed.
Talked with him till Marina South Underpass, where IMD came back to sweep me away. :)

Haha, cannot slack liao. But somehow I guess I din speed up during the first 3 km, I still have a lot of reserves left.
Just hope that I remember that on race day.

Increase the pace and make it back to the Start Pt.

Overall timing is similar to last week's timing.
Let's hope I do slightly better this Sunday.

Once we reached the finishing point, they started gathering for post run photo shoot. So pai say, they must have been waiting for me. :p

After the photo shoot, I was so zonked out that I just sit on the steps and listen in to conversations within range.

Only when they start to call for makan, did I moved my butt.

Proceed to Maxwell Food Center for our dinner.

Had wanted to order only Ice Kachang , but somehow I ordered Salted Fish Fried Rice as well.

Feel damn guilty after I finished the whole plate of fried rice, as I feel so bloated. So much for the calories expended during the run.... I have replace all of them and some more... :(

Thought after a week, my finishing time would not be a talking point, but somehow Cookiee and Highbury does not put it to rest.
Well, I shall run at my own pace and see what is the outcome. :)
