2.5 years ago, when I first start on this journey, I never thought I would have come this far.
Yes, I have set large targets along the way, but I think I am sensible enough to scale them down whenever I feel that I am not ready for the challenge.
Dreaming and achieving are two entirely different things.
2009 has been a good year for me...
I started a brand new year with a brand new strategy.
Do what I do best.
Cycling!
I targeted to do lots of cycling to compensate for my lack of swimming and running.
I know that without any training runs, I am going to suffer during my races.
But I am certain that I will not suffer as much if I just build up and maintain my stamina with lots of cycling.
I did morning rides to such an extent that I got emails from friends "Daniel, you rode again today?"
Races was part of the strategy. =)
Kinda of lucky that they have so many multi-sports races in the first half of the year.
After a failed MR25 Ultra Marathon 2007 and an un-satisfactory Let's Take A Walk 2008 (both races, I dropped out at the 32-33km mark), Sundown will be my third attempt at breaching the 40km mark in any running/walking events.
As with Aviva IM 70.3, I started SunDown with a clear mind.
Only target to complete, thus no anxiety.
How I managed that clear state of mind, I surprised even myself.
There is nothing during the start of both races that could made my heart beat that little faster.
It turns out to be a good thing, as I kept my focus on completing the race.
So what is next?
Full Ironman and Ultra-Marathons are not for me.
Thanks but no Thanks, LT. I know my limits.
I will keep on taking part in races and enjoy my races.
With my new found "like" for running, I will probably start incorporating running into my training.
Hopefully, I will be able to do just that and eventually PB all my races. =)
Right now, I will just sit back and enjoy the idyllic life. =)
*-*-*
When I first started on my journey, I weigh 108kg and looked like a 9-month pregnant man.
Although I am unable to lose my weight along the way, due to my insatiable appetite, I do look a whole lot better and definitely feel a lot better.
I enjoyed the full support of my extended family which I am thankful for.
I also had the encouragement of my friends who pushes me beyond where I thought it is possible.
Thanks, guys. =D

You inspire me! Thanks.
You are most welcome. =)
when one lack in speed, we need to put in more hours to compensate. I am sure you will improve if you put in 12-15 workout hours each week.
Lazy and wet weather is not an excuse!
Haha... I think lazy and wet goes hand in hand.
When it is wet, I dun like to ride, cos I am lazy to clean my bike afterwards. =p
