LEAN

Hehe, I know the sifus are gonna to scold me for posting this.
Cos I dun really know if I am doing it correctly, but I am talking as if I have been doing mid-foot running all my life.
Please correct me so that all of us can learn.
Thanks!

Anyway, here is my interpretation from my readings and my experience from my two previous runs.
First run - Tarmac
Second run - Trail

1) Straighten your posture.
2) Lean forward to start your run.
3) Start running as if to prevent yourself from falling down. (Did not accomplish this)
4) Knees should be slightly bent at all times.
5) The entire foot should be touching the ground at the same time. (I felt the entire sole hitting the ground. Not so much of the heel portion. What is this running style, I really do not know. =p)
6) Cadence should be constant. You extend your stride by leaning forward more. (Did not accomplish this)

Observation from my parents, I slouched during running.
Initially I thought it was the correct posture, till more You-tubing proves me wrong. Arghh....

I keep in mind to keep the heel off the ground. (I think I succeed for 80% of the time. =D)

For both runs, I felt that I am running correctly for the first 2km.
Then everything went rojak when fatigue took over.
(Knees hurt during the first run when things went south. But not as bad as heel striking.)

During the first run on tarmac, I walk on my soles during walk breaks.
Feels weird, but it really take the strain off my knees.

During the second run, running down slopes towards the Ranger Station, I felt like I am sprinting although I am not expending a lot of energy.
It is as though I am letting gravity do all the hard work.

That's all for now. =)
